Recently, a group of 2024 UBC nursing graduates reconnected over a delicious dinner, made possible by the UBC Alumni Activity Fund. The evening was hosted at a Korean barbeque restaurant, where we fondly reminisced about our times as students during hospital clinicals. Since graduation, we’ve all stepped into new roles at various healthcare sites, including the emergency room, operating room, inpatient surgical ward, and anesthetic care unit.
The night was filled with exciting stories and aspirations for our future careers. We discussed the ever-changing nature of life, including future travel plans, moves to different parts of Canada, and returning to graduate school. It was a wonderful opportunity to have fun, share laughs, and bond over our shared experiences.
As the evening wound down, full of delicious food and happy memories, we talked about planning an activity or games night the next time our busy schedules align.
