C.D. Howe Scholarship Endowment Fund National Engineering Scholarship
Are you anticipating finishing first year with a first class standing? If so, you could be eligible for this scholarship.
The C.D. Howe scholarship is open to Canadian engineering students entering second year of their bachelor of engineering degree program.
Amount: $7,500 per academic year until a first degree is obtained
Deadline: May 15, 2025 15:00 PST for the Faculty of Applied Science. (Please note that in fairness to students who submit on time, late submissions will not be considered.)
Claudette McKay-Lassonde Excellence Scholarship
The Claudette MacKay-Lassonde Excellence Scholarship is an external award. This is a Canada-wide annual award of $25,000 to support women in their second or third year of undergraduate engineering studies in Canada.
Created thanks to a generous donation from the Canadian Engineering Memorial Foundation (CEMF) and in tribute to the memory of CEMF founder Claudette MacKay-Lassonde, this scholarship embodies the values of leadership, academic excellence and community engagement espoused by the CEMF for more than 30 years.
By providing financial support to exceptional female students, this initiative is helping to inspire the next generation of women engineers and encourage the aspirations of exceptional, committed young women.
The Claudette MacKay-Lassonde Excellence Scholarship will be awarded every year in August during the Folie Technique summer camp, which is designed to give young people opportunities to explore the worlds of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) through creative, interactive and accessible activities.

Order of the White Rose

Premier Undergraduate Scholarships and Wesbrook Scholars Award
The Premier Undergraduate Scholarships and Wesbrook Scholars are the University's most prestigious designations, given to senior students with outstanding academic performance, leadership, and involvement in student and community activities. Eligible students will be emailed with an invitation to attend an information session in September.
Amount: $1,000 each to renewable scholarships worth $20,000 over two years.

Dean’s Graduate Award for Knowledge Translation & Entrepreneurship
The purpose of Dean’s Graduate Award for Knowledge Translation & Entrepreneurship is to recognize a graduate student who has successfully conveyed research results through presentations, development of materials or venture creation with the intention of producing a ground breaking product with a developed or developing business plan to bring it to market.

Dean’s Graduate Leadership Award
The purpose of Dean’s Graduate Leadership Award is to recognize an outstanding student who takes an active role in institutional governance, service delivery, community service work in one or more areas with the primary aim of making significant contributions to the graduate student culture and environment.

Dean’s Graduate Thesis Award
The purpose of Dean’s Graduate Thesis Award is to recognize an outstanding piece of original scholarly writing that demonstrates thorough research excellence, fosters research understanding through communications and contributes to significant advancements in Nominee' field of study.

UBC Killam Graduate Teaching Assistant Award
In recognition of the valuable role that Graduate Teaching Assistants play in our programs, UBC annually awards nineteen Killam Graduate Teaching Assistant Awards. Each award includes a Certificate and $1,000.00. These awards are intended to recognize teaching excellence within our institution and to underscore the importance and value that UBC places on high-quality teaching.

Governor General’s Gold Medal
One gold medal is awarded to the student who has achieved the most outstanding academic record as a doctoral student. A second gold medal is awarded to the graduate student who has achieved most outstanding academic record as a Master’s student completing a thesis. This is an opportunity to honour the best in the graduating class within the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, as there is only one award for more than 2,000 Master’s graduates and one award for more than 500 doctoral graduates. Medals are presented on behalf of the Governor General of Canada by participating educational institutions, along with a personalized certificate signed by the Governor General. There is no monetary award associated with the medals.
