On March 15th, a group of us—Applied Science alumni from different graduating years—gathered at a cozy café to celebrate the spirit of Ramadan. What began as a simple meet-up over sweets quickly turned into an evening of nostalgia, laughter, and meaningful conversations about our journeys since our time at UBC.
Though we graduated in different years, we had all crossed paths at UBC, whether through social events, shared courses, or student clubs like ABS, MSA, and EGSS. Back then, we worked together to organize various events, including Ramadan iftar gatherings, creating lasting memories that still bring a smile to our faces.
As we sipped on coffee and indulged in treats, we reminisced about those days—late-night study sessions, event planning chaos, and the friendships that made our university experience so special. Now, as working professionals, our conversations naturally shifted to career updates, industry experiences, and the transitions we’ve all navigated post-graduation.
Beyond catching up on life and work, we also discussed ongoing UBC alumni initiatives and explored ways we could stay involved and contribute to the greater community. It was inspiring to see how, despite the years since graduation, our shared connection to UBC continues to bring us together.
The gathering was more than just a casual meetup—it was a reminder of the friendships we built, the impact of our student involvement, and the importance of staying connected. We left feeling grateful for our time at UBC and excited for more reunions in the future. Until next time!
