A gift towards meaningful action, not just lofty goals and ideas.
People are at the centre of everything we do. Our disciplines not only provide us with a greater understanding of the inequities in society, we are also equipped with the expertise to address them. As trusted professionals: engineers, nurses, planners and architects, we recognize our duty to provide the foundation for a safe, secure, healthy, high-quality of life for all.
But we know that change must start from within. Help us transform the cultural landscape to build an inclusive ecosystem that ensures equal access and enables people of diverse backgrounds and perspectives to thrive.
While there is still much work to be done, the projects and programs below are already underway. Your support will propel our momentum forward, expand our impact and help break down the myriad barriers to equity.
While there is no silver bullet, UBC Engineering has already succeeded in disrupting the systemic cycle of inequity, raising female enrolment within our engineering programs to 30 per cent. Learn the secret to our success and how you can be a part of the solution.
Support women in engineering and build a better world. The 14 Not Forgotten Memorial at the UBC Okanagan campus is an inspirational art installation that will be a permanent memorial to the young women whose lives were taken during the tragic 1989 École Polytechnique massacre in Montreal.
