Civil Engineering 1985 - 40th Reunion

Group photo of Civil '85 Class

The Civil Engineering class of 1985 gathered for a 40th reunion on May 30th and 31st. It was a great way to remember the fun (and challenges) of our journey through the UBC Civil Engineering experience.

We had 25 grads come out for a memory-filled tour of CEME and a stroll through the campus, ending at Brown’s Crafthouse. Being back in CEME 1202 was especially fun and the presentation by Dean James Olson was insightful and inspiring. We have attached a photo by the Cairn (we haven’t aged a bit!). A special thank you to Mike Nolan, our Class President, and Dean James Olson for the welcome speeches and to Stephen Li and Mehrtash Motahedi for coordinating our tours on campus.

Saturday saw 11 intrepid golfers brave the rain in the morning and then the sun came out for the festivities for the 40 people (grads and partners) who partied at the Wicklow Pub. Everyone enjoyed the opportunities to catch up with old friends and reminisce about the old days.  We hope to have many more events!
