
Siavash Alamouti
Siavash Alamouti is an engineer renowned for his contributions to communications technology, including the invention of the eponymous Alamouti Code, which is used in billions of devices around the globe. With over 20,000 citations for his scientific work and numerous industry awards, Siavash is a champion of technology for the betterment of humanity and a true innovator.
In 2022, Siavash was awarded the prestigious Marconi Prize in recognition of his wide-reaching impact on wireless technology, as well as his work to democratize the internet and make wireless devices and services more efficient and affordable.
Siavash earned his BASc and MASc degrees in Electrical Engineering from UBC in 1989 and 1992 respectively. He is currently the Executive Chairman at mimik Technology. Prior to that, his distinguished career includes roles as the Executive Vice President of R&D at Wells Fargo, the President and CEO of mimik, Group R&D Director for Vodafone in London, UK, Fellow and Chief Technology Officer of The Mobile Wireless Group at Intel, and various technology roles at Vivato, Cadence Design Systems, AT&T Wireless Services, and MPR Teltech Ltd.
