
Richard Fletcher
Richard (Dick) graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 1969 with a degree in Civil Engineering, was City Engineer in Whitehorse for 4 years, moved to BC where he has practiced as a municipal consultant, the last 32 years with Urban Systems Ltd and was president of the company 1998-2001. During that period he has worked substantially with First Nations developing intergovernmental projects.
Throughout his career, with the support of his wife Joanie, he has volunteered his time to community and profession, served on APEGBC branches, committees, elected to council and was president in 2003-4.He was later appointed to Engineers Canada and was president of the board in 2009.
Dick is co-chair of the engineering and IT industry group, Innovation Okanagan Network (ION) that in 2004 successfully made the case for an engineering school at UBCO. He currently serves on the DVC`s External Community Advisory Committee and as ION provides industry support for the engineering school.
