
Ralph Sultan
Ralph Sultan P.Eng. has been elected four terms as MLA for West Vancouver-Capilano in the Legislature. Born and raised in East Vancouver, he was President of the Engineering Undergraduate Society at UBC, graduated in Mechanical Engineering, and received MBA, MA and PhD (Economics) degrees from Harvard University which employed him as Associate Professor and published two of his books on pricing in the electrical oligopoly. He was Chief Economist of The Royal Bank of Canada, Senior Vice President in charge of Global Energy and Minerals, principal of a large lead-zinc mine in Yukon, investment advisor to JW McConnell Foundation, and president of a forestry company in Williams Lake. He entered politics after his wife died, has four children and five grandchildren, and enjoys gardening at his home in Whytecliff as well as boating.
