Innovation and R&D Manager, Kal Tire

With a career spanning multiple continents and cultures, Peter has extensive experience of business management and global operations. Following 17 years in leadership roles at the world market leader in packaging and processing, Tetra Pak, Peter joined Kal Tire Mining Group in 2012, where he is now Innovation and R&D Manager. Responsible for developing new services and solutions to global operations in five continents, Peter’s Innovation Centre has enhanced safety, productivity and value to customers. The centre has been recognized in the mining industry as a distinct advantage to Kal Tire for bringing new processes and technologies to mine sites around the world.

A tireless advocate for Engineering students and the Faculty of Applied Science, Peter is helping UBC Okanagan to develop Innovation Precinct One, a multidisciplinary collision space which will one day house Kal Tire’s entire R&D facility. This partnership with the UBC Okanagan School of Engineering will not only enrich the student experience but also advance economic development in the region through innovative, world-class research.
