
Jill Anholt
After her previous education in fine arts and physical therapy, Jill graduated from the UBC School of Architecture with a master’s degree in 1996. Following a brief stint working in a traditional architecture office in Vancouver, Jill discovered the dynamic and challenging field of public art which brought together her interests in public spaces, sculpture and the human body.
Since winning her first art commission in 1998, she has created more than 50 permanent site-specific installations in public spaces across North America in a variety of settings, scales, forms and materials. Jill has received national and international awards for her artworks, both independently and as part of integrated design projects. Many of her works have been recognized for their innovation and successful role in placemaking and community building.
