
Jason Sangha
Jason Sangha graduated from UBC in 2001 with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mining and Mineral Processing. He then began working at Teck Resources Ltd’s Highland Valley Copper (HVC) mine in central British Columbia as an Engineer-in-Training. Jason joined Teck’s central Base Metals team in 2015, looking after asset development and business planning across Teck’s base metals portfolio. Following a stint as General Manager back at HVC, he is now Vice President, Technical and Planning, responsible for Teck’s centralized technical teams as well as strategic asset planning across all operations and projects. During his career he has actively mentored numerous young engineers, sharing his learnings gained from both technical and leadership roles.
Jason has stayed connected to UBC as committee chair for the Norman B. Keevil Institute of Mining Engineering since 2022. He has also volunteered with North Vancouver Football Club, helping coach his two boys over the past decade.
