Francis Pun
Francis is a BASc, Mechanical Engineering graduate of the class of 1994. Since then, he has completed an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business, a corporate executive program from The Wharton School and an innovation management program at UC Berkeley. He currently serves as the External Vice-Chair of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong.
Francis currently works as Assistant Vice President, Exploratory and Industry, at Lenovo PCCW Solutions (LPS), a subsidiary of Lenovo, where he manages new technology collaborations in one of the largest IT system integrators in Asia Pacific. Prior to this, he has 20+ years of experience in commercial technology and startup innovation network development. Most recently at Hong Kong Science Park, one of the largest technology innovation ecosystems in Asia. With Science Park, he was fortunate to stay connected with UBC via engagements with Hatch and CDL Vancouver.
In the commercial technology space, Francis worked in strategic programs with US multinationals Dell, Cisco and TE Connectivity, based in Tokyo, Singapore and now Hong Kong. He's been involved in digital transformation, data analytics and innovation management, and occasionally rambles on about them as a guest lecturer at a local class.
Francis is a proud UBC Faculty of Applied Science alumnus. Since first arriving to Hong Kong in 1997 and then coming back in 2006, the UBC alumni community has been a tremendous source of camaraderie and support. The warmth and professionalism of the Faculty of Applied Science has provided him with a sense of belonging and created strong bonds that resonate with the positive Canadian values of sharing, inclusivity and respect. Francis is grateful to all the alumni community who have paved the path before him, and is excited to work with those who continue to make UBC better for the future.
