- Grad year: 1985
- Program:
The 1985 electrical engineering graduating class got together at UBC on September 12th to reconnect for the first time, 30 years after graduating. 25 ECEs showed up, arriving from Toronto, Oregon, Silicon Valley, the BC Interior, Vancouver Island, and the Lower Mainland.
The class spent an hour getting reacquainted in the Engineering Design Center, then checked out the many new buildings and facilities that today’s engineering students enjoy: the project shops in the EDC (where the Thunderbots and the Electric Drag Racer teams showed us their latest work), the Engineering Student Centre (the new Cheeze), and Hector MacLeod, perhaps the only building on campus that hasn’t changed since 1985 J. After checking out the cairn, the group retired to Mahoney’s for dinner and more reminiscing. The group thanks Courtney Smith and the Engineering Alumni team for their invaluable help with organizing and coordinating the event!
