Seven members of the Electrical Engineering class of ’72 got together for a sunny 50 year celebration at the Dean’s BBQ on September 24, 2022. Our class reunion owes a lot of thanks to the Alumni Engagement team for assisting with the reunion. They provided the EE 1972 class's contact information, reserved a private meeting area for our classmates, and above all presented each of us with a lovely collection of "swag" for coming.
The Dean’s BBQ was a wonderful opportunity for our classmates to reconnect and share life experiences with past engineering friends of our generation. The BBQ also gave our classmates a chance listen to Dean James Olson (PhD, PEng) speak on the future of Engineering at UBC and allowed us to meet new aspiring Engineering students in the Faculty of Applied Science.
After the BBQ, a group of us went to Brown’s Social House on UBC's campus for drinks and to reminisce about our undergrad years in the Applied Science Faculty and discuss our careers after graduating. We had quite a chuckle when we realized the pranks and stunts we performed as students probably wouldn't fly today!
