On June 8th, 2025, the UBC Chemical Engineering Class of 1995 celebrated their 30th anniversary with a joyful reunion in North Vancouver. Eighteen graduates gathered for a memory-filled evening at Joey Shipyards and later at Tap & Barrel, sharing food, drinks, and plenty of laughter as they reconnected and reminisced.

The reunion was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on both the challenges and the fun of their UBC Engineering days—from field trips and group projects to beer gardens and the legendary “security detail” work that helped fund class events. Fond memories were shared of the leadership of class president Paul Leyen and treasurer Dennis Kadach, who helped steer the class through it all.

A heartfelt thank you goes to Sergio and Francine Berretta, Catherine Peltier, and Judi Wannamaker for initiating reunion planning pre-COVID, and to Samir Shah and Jose Lamyin for bringing the idea back to life.

A couple of photos from the Shipyards captured the spirit of the day—proof that the Class of ‘95 hasn’t aged a bit! Here’s to more gatherings and continued connections in the years ahead.
