Our short hike on the West Coast Trail was a memorable group adventure, offering a taste of the trail’s renowned challenges and stunning scenery. Located on Vancouver Island, this iconic trail is famous for its dense rainforests, rugged coastlines, and rich history. Even within a short stretch, we encountered the trail’s classic obstacles—muddy sections, slippery boardwalks, and tangled roots that kept everyone on their toes.
Walking through towering trees, we eventually met breathtaking views of the coastline, where waves crashed against jagged rocks under a misty horizon. We paused to take in the sights, enjoying the sense of solitude and the wild beauty that defines this area. The remnants of old telegraph poles along the trail were a reminder of its history as a life-saving route for shipwreck survivors. Although we only covered a small section of the trail, the experience left us with a deep appreciation for its rugged charm. The blend of challenging terrain and awe-inspiring landscapes made the hike unforgettable, and it sparked a desire to return and explore more of what the West Coast Trail has to offer.
