
Sean McBeath
Sean was born and raised in Maple Ridge, BC. After studying at McGill for two years, Sean switched programs and schools, moving back to the west coast to attend UBC, graduating with his Bachelors of Applied Science in Chemical and Biological Engineering in 2013. Sean is currently completing his Master’s of Applied Science Degree under the supervision of Drs. David Wilkinson and Madjid Mohseni, researching an electrochemical water treatment technology catered for small and remote communities. Throughout high school and university, Sean competed at an international level as a high performance athlete competing in the Olympic sport of flatwater canoeing. Sean still continues to compete, with a silver medal achievement at the Canadian National Championships in 2015. Sean is also a dedicated board member for the non-profit organization, Tyler Lewis Clean Energy Research Foundation, funding clean energy graduate research projects being undertaken at Canadian post-secondary institutions.
