
Larry Beasley
LARRY BEASLEY is a professional planner and urban designer. He is Principal of Beasley and Associates and the “Distinguished Practice Professor of Planning” at UBC. He is the retired Co-Chief Planner for Vancouver and sits on the Board of Translink. His latest book is Ecodesign for Cities and Suburbs. With two honorary Doctorate Degrees, he is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Planners and an Honorary Member of the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects. He has been recognized as an “Advocate for Architecture” by the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, and holds the Kevin Lynch Prize from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as well as the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. He is a Member of the Order of Canada. He works around the world, leading key urban initiatives in Canada, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Scandinavia, Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, and Russia.
