Kim is currently based in Calgary as Vice President of Shell’s Heavy Oil In Situ business. She joined Shell Canada Limited directly from university, more than twenty years ago. After progressing through several leadership roles in Canada, she relocated to the Netherlands with Shell International Exploration and Production, where she managed a technical department focused on global energy projects before moving into the role of Vice President, Technical Strategy and Planning. In 2009, Kim was appointed Vice President, Technical and Production – Russia, based in Moscow. She repatriated to Canada late 2012 to take up the role of Vice President Development, Heavy Oil.

Kim was raised in the Vancouver area and studied geophysics in the Geological Engineering program at the University of British Columbia. She is a registered Professional Engineer in the province of Alberta. Kim and her husband have three high school and university-aged children.
