Judith Lynam
Dr. Judith Lynam has had longstanding engagement with UBC, first as a graduate of the MSN programme and subsequently as a Professor in the School of Nursing. Her programme of research, undertaken over several decades, seeks to generate knowledge to understand why particular population groups have poorer health profiles over the life course. The RICHER social pediatrics initiative is the most recent example of the way Dr. Lynam brings together the concepts of interest to shape and redefine approaches to professional practice. This intersectoral and interdisciplinary community based partnership initiative has improved the health of some of Canada’s most disadvantaged children and families and serves as an example of ways we may improve healthcare delivery. Dr. Lynam is recognized for her research, her community engaged scholarship and for her leadership in Nursing education.
