Gordon Davis
Davis graduated from UBC in 1962 with a BASc in Geological Engineering. His career has been as an executive and director of companies active in mineral exploration, mine development and operations. He was involved in the discovery and development of the Anvil Mine in the Yukon Territory. Davis was associated with the discovery of the Camino Rojo gold deposit in Zacatecas Mexico now owned by Goldcorp. In retirement he has remained on the boards of exploration companies active in the Americas. Since 1977 he has Chaired the Dr.Aaro E. Aho Foundation that has awarded significant scholarships to UBC students in Geological Sciences and Geological Engineering. Davis has also been active in fundraising for projects in the Department of Earth Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences.
