BASc '68 Electrical Engineering
C.V. graduated from UBC in Electrical Engineering Science. He retired after 39 years in the power systems, communications and the microchip industries. He pioneered in installing several microprocessor based SCADA master stations. He engineered and installed fibre optic system for a power company. He was running a subsidiary company in San Jose supplying specialty kits used for microchip failure analysis. He was tasked with implementing a trunked simulcast radio system for Tacoma. He published the long-term improvement plans for the high voltage power systems for the cities of Tacoma and Seattle.
He was IEEE Power Engineering Society Chairman, IEEE Seattle Section Chairman and he represented Seattle in the Sections Congress. He was a dedicated after-hours volunteer of Junior Achievement coaching high school students that won local and national awards. After retirement, he is an active volunteer for the National Association of Investors Corp. receiving the O’Hara Award from this non-profit organization. He supports UBC Faculty of Applied Science events in the Greater Seattle Area and other UBC related projects.
