UBC Faculty of Applied Science appoints two Associate Deans

The UBC Faculty of Applied Science has added two leaders to serve in Associate Dean roles. Dr. Vicky Bungay has been appointed Associate Dean, Research and Graduate Students, and Dr. Agnes d’Entremont has been named Associate Dean, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Student Success. Effective July 1, 2025, these roles join Dean James Olson, Associate Dean, Academic Carol Jaeger and Associate Dean, Faculty Affairs Reza Vaziri on the Faculty of Applied Science leadership team.

Dr. Vicky Bungay
Associate Dean, Research and Graduate Students
Dr. Bungay is a Professor in the School of Nursing and has previously served as the School’s Associate Director, Research and Teaching Scholarship and Associate Director, Strategic Initiatives. She brings a wealth of research experience, strong leadership skills and a proven record of fostering inter-professional collaboration and networking.
As Associate Dean, Research and Graduate Studies, Dr. Bungay will provide strategic leadership for the Faculty of Applied Science research enterprise and graduate education. She will play a vital role in strengthening connections across the Faculty's diverse community of schools and engineering departments, including the School of Engineering at UBCO.

Dr. Agnes d’Entremont
Associate Dean, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and Student Success
Dr. d’Entremont, a Professor in Mechanical Engineering, first joined the Faculty of Applied Science leadership team in August 2024 as Associate Dean pro tem, EDI, where she led a range of important initiatives focused on EDI and Indigenous engagement. She has built a strong record of scholarship, particularly around gender and decisions on entering engineering and selecting disciplines.
In this role, Dr. d’Entremont will provide strategic leadership for two interconnected priorities: advancing equity, diversity and inclusion across the Faculty of Applied Science, and overseeing key service areas related to outreach, recruitment, reputation, student engagement and academic success.
