Strike! UBC Applied Science Alumni Reconnect Over Bowling Bash

In a heartwarming reunion reminiscent of their university days, a group of UBC Applied Science graduates recently came together to roll strikes and reminisce about their shared journey through the halls of academia. Set against the backdrop of Dell Lanes in Surrey, BC, this gathering provided a much-needed break from the tumultuous years of the pandemic. For these graduates, many of whom hailed from the Computer and Electrical Engineering cohorts of 2018, 2019, and 2020, the event was a chance to rekindle old friendships forged during late-night study sessions and exhilarating pub crawls. As they exchanged stories of their undergraduate escapades, the echoes of ECE games nights and chariot races filled the air, serving as a nostalgic soundtrack to the evening’s festivities.

The planning process for the reunion was no small task, with meticulous attention given to every detail, from selecting the perfect bowling alley to ensuring ample parking for all attendees. After careful deliberation, Dell Lanes emerged as the ideal venue, offering competitive pricing, ample lane availability, and convenient proximity for all. With two adjacent lanes reserved and rental shoes secured for everyone, the stage was set for an epic showdown on the bowling lanes. As laser lights danced overhead, the graduates eagerly took to their respective lanes, each frame brimming with friendly competition and laughter.

Amidst the flurry of strikes and spares, the group found themselves equally immersed in catching up with one another, their conversations seamlessly transitioning from nostalgic anecdotes to ambitious plans for the future. For a brief moment, it was as if time stood still, and they were transported back to their university days, surrounded by the familiar sights and sounds of their alma mater.

As the night drew to a close, amidst the clatter of pins and the aroma of freshly baked pizzas, it became clear that this gathering was more than just a bowling event—it was a celebration of friendship, resilience, and the enduring bonds forged through shared experiences. In a world marked by uncertainty, these engineers had found solace and strength in each other, reaffirming the timeless adage that no matter where life may lead, the ties that bind us together will always endure. With hearts full and spirits lifted, the UBC Applied Science alumni bid farewell to Dell Lanes, their laughter echoing long into the night—a testament to the enduring power of community and the unbreakable bond of friendship.
