
Sara Badiei
Sara Badiei is a humanitarian engineering expert with 9 years of experience coordinating complex emergencies in conflict zones in the Middle-East, natural disasters in South East Asia, disease outbreaks in Africa and private sector engineering programs in Canada and the United States. Over the past 5 years she has worked with Medecins Sans Frontieres in Chad, Congo and the Philippines, with the International Committee of the Red Cross in Gaza and Afghanistan and most recently with the World Bank in Israel and the Palestinian Territories. Previous to her humanitarian career, Sara worked for 4 years for BC Hydro and Powerex in Canada and Southern California Edison in Los Angeles. She is a specialist in rehabilitation and upgrade of electricity, water and wastewater infrastructure located in contexts of urban armed conflict. Sara graduated from the University of Toronto (BASc) and the UBC (MASc) with honours in Electrical Engineering.
