
Paul Chernikhowsky
Paul Chernikhowsky has over 27 years of experience in electric and gas utility planning, design, operations, and management, and he is currently the Director of Technical Risk and Governance for FortisBC’s Eagle Mountain to Woodfibre Gas Pipeline Project.
A longstanding champion of UBC Okanagan, Paul has played a significant role in elevating the campus’s reputation in the community as a FortisBC Industry Partner. Paul is also a sessional instructor at UBC Okanagan for the ENGR 408 Energy System Transition course and was instrumental in helping create the Energy Chair at UBC Okanagan.
In previous roles at FortisBC, Paul has led groups including Regulatory, Resource Planning, System Integrity, Engineering, and Asset Management. Through these roles he gained extensive experience in regulated utility project and rate application development and approval. Paul has also appeared as a company witness during numerous British Columbia Utilities Commission proceedings.
Paul earned his BASc in Electrical Engineering from UBC in 1994, and is a registered Professional Engineer in British Columbia and a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.
