Omkaram Nalamasu

Dr. Om Nalamasu is senior vice president and CTO for Applied Materials as well as the president of Applied Ventures, LLC, the venture capital arm of Applied Materials. Dr. Nalamasu is responsible for Applied’s profitable growth through the development of new product pipelines, collaborations with global academia/ research institutes, government agencies and building a world-class team to maintain Applied Materials’ technology leadership in materials engineering.
Previously he served as vice president of research and NYSTAR Distinguished Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) and held key R&D leadership positions at AT&T Bell Laboratories, and Bell Laboratories.
Dr. Nalamasu has made seminal contributions to the fields of optical lithography and polymeric materials. He is a member of the board of directors of The Tech Museum in San Jose, and serves on several advisory boards. He received his Ph.D. from UBC.
