Lianna Mah
BASc'86, MEng'87
Lianna has over 30 years’ experience in consulting engineering, specializing in the design and construction of wastewater, water, and civil engineering projects. She currently holds the position of Vice President, Business Development at Associated Engineering, an employee-owned consulting firm which provides multi-discipline engineering and environmental sciences services across Canada.
Over the past three decades, Lianna has been a constant advocate for gender diversity in engineering. She was a founding member of Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC)‘s Women in Engineering and Geoscience Division. Now President of EGBC, Lianna also helped establish the EGBC Foundation’s Sheri Plewes Scholarship for Women in Engineering. In 2016, Lianna received the Award for the Support of Women in the Engineering Profession from Engineers Canada.
Since earning both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree from UBC, Lianna remains an active member of the UBC community. She is a guest lecturer for the Faculty of Applied Science and has been a tireless supporter of diversity initiatives, including the Together WiE Can initiative for Women in Engineering.
