
Jim Sibley
Jim Sibley is the director of the Centre for Instructional Support at the Faculty of Applied Science at the University of British Columbia and lives in Kitsilano with his long-time partner Amanda Bradley.
As a faculty developer, he has led a 17-year implementation of Team-Based Learning (TBL) in both UBC Engineering and the School of Nursing with a focus on active learning in large classrooms. Beyond his 39 years of experience in faculty development, support, and training at UBC, Jim has written the book Getting Started with Team-Based Learning.
He is an international TBL consultant and has worked with faculty all over the world and at schools in Australia, Canada, Korea, Lebanon, Pakistan, Uruguay, and the United States. Jim is also a board member of the Vancouver International Fringe Festival – an annual event that brings 700 theatre shows to Vancouver over a ten-day festival each September.
