
Henry Wakabayashi
On graduating in Chemical Engineering from UBC in 1958, Henry went to work on Business Development at Mitsubishi in Vancouver. During his 10 year tenure, he was instrumental in the sale of major hydro-electric components to BC Hydro’s Peace River Project, also in the conceptualization and construction of the first Canadian-Japanese JV pulpmill, Crestbrook Forest Industries
In 1970, he established Pacific Liaicon, to provide project management services, primarily to the pulp and paper industry and later to major public sector infrastructure projects, where he was responsible for helming the development, project management and implementation of some of BC’s most important infrastructures.
