
Brent King
Brent King is a Professional Engineer, Inventor and Philanthropist. In 2009, he won a Manning Innovation Award for inventing the SPIDER limb Positioner, which is a pneumatic-hydraulic device that accurately and securely positions surgical patients for orthopaedic procedures. Brent currently sits as the Awards Coordinator for the Manning Awards and helps to determine who will receive this award.
In 2009, Brent started the GotGinch Cross Canada Underwear Drive. A program that donated and delivered much needed undergarments to homeless shelters across Canada. During its 7 years, the program distributed over a quarter million pairs of underwear and collected over $300,000.
Now retired from the Medical Device world, Brent sits on several boards for start-up tech companies and acts as juror for a number of funding agencies. Recently in an effort to learn about an entirely new industry Brent created an independent record label and began managing a breakout Canadian Country Music Duo.
