Andrea Marshall
Andrea studied electrical engineering with a specialization in biomedical engineering. She gained 23 months of biomedical engineering work experience at LightIntegra Technology, Kardium Inc and Haemonetics during her degree, as well as her capstone project with Western Clinical Engineering Ltd. She was CEO of the UBC Biomedical Engineering Student Team and grew the team from 7 to 80+ students tackling 7 medical challenges in just over 2 years. She led an international fact-finding mission to Kenya and Uganda in May 2015 where her team investigated medical challenges in low resource settings for UBC BEST to develop improvements for. She is now Chair of the Board of Directors for UBC BEST and moved to Boston MA where she is an Electrical engineer at Haemonetics Corporation and is working on a thromboelastography device that is used in hospitals internationally to manage the clotting and bleeding of patients.
