During the summer, a group of us packed our bags and made the trip over to beautiful Victoria, BC. But this wasn’t just any getaway—we were heading over to reconnect with one of our closest friends, who’s been living and working in Victoria for a while now. Life tends to get in the way, and it had been way too long since we were all together in the same place. So naturally, we decided to make the reunion unforgettable.
The plan? A full day of adrenaline, laughter, and pushing our limits at WildPlay Adventure Park. If you’ve never been to WildPlay, picture this: ropes courses suspended high up in the trees, zip lines crisscrossing through the forest canopy, and all kinds of wobbly, thrilling, slightly terrifying obstacles that test both your nerves and your balance. From teetering logs and rope bridges to swinging platforms and surprise drops, the course had everything you’d want in a team-bonding, sweat-inducing, memory-making adventure.
The minute we strapped into our harnesses and clipped onto the first course; we knew we were in for a wild ride. There’s something about being 40 feet off the ground that makes you trust your friends very quickly—especially when they’re cheering (or laughing) as you attempt to walk across a single rope with nothing but your sense of balance and sheer willpower.
For a few hours, we weren’t thinking about work, routines, or the months that had passed since we last all hung out. We were just up in the trees, figuring it out as we went, laughing harder than we had in a long time, and remembering how easy it can feel to be around the people who really know you.
By the end, we were sore, a little scraped up, and definitely ready for food. But more than that, we were glad we’d made the trip. Life pulls people in different directions, and it’s not always easy to find time to reconnect. Being together again gave us a deeper appreciation for each other. There’s something special about spending time outdoors with people you care about and tackling challenges side by side. We may have reached literal new heights on the ropes course, but the real high was simply being back together, making memories as if no time had passed at all.
