Planning and designing of cities, systems and infrastructure for a more urban future.

As global populations expand and increasingly concentrate in cities, the quality of built environment systems and infrastructure must become more resilient, more livable and more sustainable. Applied Science faculty respond to this challenge as world leaders in analyzing, planning and designing the systems (water, transportation and utilities, etc.), infrastructure (roads, bridges, pipelines, buildings, etc.), and public policies that overcome challenges and enrich our quality of life. Our leadership is built upon the research and professional expertise in Architecture and Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, and Community and Regional Planning. Our applications span the scales of urban regions and landscapes to civil infrastructure to neighbourhoods to urban blocks, buildings and building systems.
