The launch is held on National Indigenous Peoples Day, a special day within National Indigenous History Month. According to the Government of Canada, *This is a day for all Canadians to recognize and celebrate the unique heritage, diverse cultures and outstanding contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Mètis peoples.* June 21, the summer solstice, is National Indigenous Peoples Day because of its significance within Indigenous cultures as the longest day of the year.
