Orange Shirt Day: Walk and learn together
September 30 is an annual day to recognize and raise awareness about the residential school system in Canada, join together in the spirit of reconciliation, and honour the experiences of Indigenous Peoples. Orange Shirt Day commemorates this legacy.
The Faculty of Applied Science is hosting an event on September 30 from 12-1pm as part of Orange Shirt Day:
Walk and Learn Together
We will meet at the Indian Residential School History and Dialogue Centre, walk to the Reconciliation Pole and finish at the Engineering Cairn. The history of Indian residential schools will be discussed as we walk this short route. Bannock will be served before we commence the walk, and we will have a painting activity at the Cairn.
We hope you all can join us.
