As the UBC Biomedical Engineering program increases the number of “Engineers in Scrubs” in our hospitals, partnership are critically important. In addition to our affiliations with medical device companies and health care providers, realizing out foal of becoming a world-class training program for future biomedical engineers depends on the involvement of alumni and other dedicated individuals.
With your support, we can create positive and lasting change for this program, through these key priorities:
Innovation Hub at Vancouver General Hospital
With more and more engineers working at VGH, it’s time to create a hub equipped with state-of-the-art design and prototyping facilities to draw in the broader community, to foster collaborative research and development projects between clinicians and engineers, and to encourage graduating students to take the next steps towards commercializing the results of their research.
Chair in Medical Device Design
A Chair position will enable the Biomedical Engineering Program to attract and retain a skilled researcher in medical device design to advance our research and training and expand our program at VGH.
Scholarships and Stipends
Student awards enhance our commitment to financial aid, allowing UBC Biomedical Engineering to become competitive with other top-ranked universities and attract the best and brightest students from around the world to our program.
All biomedical engineering students gain from the opportunity to travel to the annual medical device exposition to view first-hand the latest advances in medical technology.
